Adding Token Gated Content
Our Token Gating feature provides access control for exclusive content based on token ownership. Here’s how it works in our platform and the considerations behind the implementation.
How It Works
-
Request Token Gating:
- Token Gating is currently available by request.
- Reach out to our team with the content you’d like to gate, and we’ll set up the page for you.
-
Content Integration:
- Once we receive your request and content, we create a token-gated page.
- Users must verify token ownership to access this page.
-
Access to Content:
- The token-gated page provides access to the requested content (e.g., PNGs, MP4s).
- Important Note: The content itself is not token-gated, meaning users can potentially see the file URLs in the browser’s source.
Why We Handle Content This Way
While the page is token-gated, we don’t secure the content files directly. Here’s why:
- Practicality: Preventing users from downloading or redistributing digital content is nearly impossible. Even with sophisticated protections, users can still screen-record or save content.
- Focus on Access Control: Our token-gating system ensures only authorized users can view the content within the gated page, maintaining a balance between usability and protection.
- Simplicity and Efficiency: By focusing on gating the page rather than the individual assets, we streamline the process and reduce complexity for all parties involved.
This approach ensures an effective and user-friendly token gating solution while acknowledging the inherent limitations of securing digital content. If you have specific needs or questions, feel free to contact our team for assistance.
